About This Project

Oriol Balaguer is one of the best positioned pastry chef and baker in Spain. Throughout his career he has won several awards in his modality: the last, for the best butter croissant in 2014. He has also published several recipe books and among its services offers consultation services on desserts and pastries to hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, and also to private individuals. His creations can be found in his boutiques distributed between Barcelona and Madrid. The interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán was commissioned to decorate “La Xocolateria” located in the Barcelona neighbourhood of El Born.
For “La Xocolateria” we made a large ceiling with several hanging tulips, which fall in a triangle shape with a world map in the background. For the bar, we made lamps suspended by chains, creating an elongated crystal pot with three opal glass balls inside. Finally, we made other light fittings to hang over the tables, inspired by the shape of a lantern with orange glass and gold structure.
