Opening of the Pestana Hotel at Plaza Mayor in Madrid

Hi Contract, the top hotel interior design web portal, echoed the inauguration of the new luxury hotel of Grupo Pestana located in the former Casa de la Carnicería, a 17th century building in the emblematic Plaza Mayor of Madrid. The reform was carried out by Estudio b76.
Dajor Lighting Factory was commissioned the custom fabrication of several of the luminaries that would give light to this great hotel located in the heart of Madrid.
For the hotel rooms, we created table lamps with textile lampshades, with a structure finished in silver imitating forms of the classic metal craftwork and a beige linen shade that allows a pleasant warm light to pass through. To match these lamps, we also manufactured other table lamps, in aged silver finish and a double joint that allows to adapt the illumination to the needs of each person.
For the common areas we designed wall lights, in aged brass to provide a vintage touch to match the building’s classic aesthetics.
In the terraces’ outdoor lighting, we wanted to focus on achieving an intimate and comfortable atmosphere, suitable to be enjoyed at any time of day. We made brass cylindrical pendant lamps and white industrial-style lampshades (in wall sconces and pendants) that exposed the warm vintage filament bulbs.
